Actress Adah Sharma and director Sudipto Sen have denied the allegations that The Kerala Story is a propaganda movie. They requested the viewers to watch the film before they come to a conclusion.
Directed by Sudipto Sen, The Kerala Story deals with the story of a group of women from Kerala who are converted to Islam and join the extremist Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). It is about how thousands of Innocent women have been systematically converted, radicalized & their lives destroyed.
Ever since it was announced The Kerala Story has been making it to the headlines for its subject. The makers released its official trailer on April 26 and announced that the film will hit the screens on May 5. The video has received superb response with many waiting for its release. But some people from Kerala alleged that it is propaganda movie and promotes the Sangh Parivar’s agenda.
But Adah Sharma, who is seen in the lead role in The Kerala Story, denied the allegations, as she tweeted, “#TheKeralaStory isn’t about, elections , agenda, religion vs religion.. it is about something much bigger. LIFE and DEATH ! It is about Terrorism vs Humanity. Calling it propaganda is covering up the story of each girl whose life was destroyed 💔”
Sudipto Sen also denied the charges and requested viewers to watch the film first. The director tweeted, “Dear my Kerala, U r highest in literacy. Education taught us tolerance. Pls watch #TheKeralaStory. Why the hurry to make opinion? Watch it – if u dislike, we’ll debate. We worked 7-yrs for this film in Kerala. We are part of u. We are Indian together. Love u. #VipulAmrutlalShah.”
Besides writing the script, Vipul Amrutlal Shah has also bank rolled The Kerala Story. The producer says that the movie is a spine-chilling, never told before true story, revealing a dangerous conspiracy that has been hatched against India. It is a compilation of the true stories of three young girls from different parts of Kerala.
