Akshay Kumar pledges to contribute Rs 25 crores to Narendra Modi’s PM-Cares Fund

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has pledged to contribute Rs 25 crores to the PM-Cares Fund immediately after Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged the citizens of the country to donate for relief fund in Emergency Situations

India is under the economical crisis following the Coronavirus outbreak. Narendra Modi took to Twitter to request the citizens of the country to contribute. He tweeted, “People from all walks of life expressed their desire to donate to India’s war against COVID-19. Respecting that spirit, the Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund has been constituted. This will go a long way in creating a healthier India.”

Narendra Modi tweeted, “It is my appeal to my fellow Indians, Kindly contribute to the PM-CARES Fund. This Fund will also cater to similar distressing situations if they occur in the times ahead. This link has all the important details about the fund. The PM-CARES Fund accepts micro-donations too. It will strengthen disaster management capacities and encourage research on protecting citizens. Let us leave no stone unturned to make India healthier and more prosperous for our future generations.”

Just 30 minutes after Narendra Modi requested, Akshay Kumar took to his Twitter page and announced his support to the Prime Minister. He wrote, “This is that time when all that matters is the lives of our people. And we need to do anything and everything it takes. I pledge to contribute Rs 25 crores from my savings to @narendramodi ji’s PM-CARES Fund. Let’s save lives, Jaan hai toh jahaan hai. 🙏🏻.”
