BJP Karnataka in-charge Arun Singh spoke about former BJP leader Laxman Savadi joining Congress today and said despite getting all benefits in the BJP, he has made a big mistake and will regret it later.
Laxman Savadi was an aspirant for the BJP ticket from Athani for the Karnataka Assembly elections scheduled on May 10. But, the BJP gave the ticket to sitting MLA Mahesh Kumathalli, who had left the Congress to join the BJP to help the party come to power in Karnataka in 2019. Upset with this decision, the former BJP leader joined the Congress party today.
When asked whether Laxman Savdi’s exit is a shock for the BJP, the Karnataka in-charge of the party said, “What is the shock? He is a person, who has lost an MLA election. If he is such a big leader, he wouldn’t have lost an MLA election. Even after losing the election, BJP made him deputy CM and then MLC. And he was given an important position core committee and election committee.”
Arun Singh added, “Despite getting all these things, he is joining the Congress party for his selfish goals. The Congress party is filled with quarrels and its leaders are divided into two groups. He has made a big mistake and will regret it later. It is not at all a concern for us, as we have a big army of party workers.”
It was rumoured that Laxman Savadi was one among the leaders, who wanted to become the Chief Minister. Talking about it, Arun Singh said, “I heard that he is an aspirant for the CM post. The BJP made him Deputy CM and he is hoping to become CM in Congress party. But the Congress will make him sit outside and Rahul Gandhi will not meet him for the next 10 years.”
The BJP Karnataka in-charge added, “The BJP party workers will form the government with a big majority. People around the country including Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu are joining the BJP. AP CM Kiran Kumar joined the party. It is a great opportunity to work for the BJP. What better thing could be there than working under the leadership of Narendra Modi?”
