An official from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has informed that the pending exams for specific papers for the CBSE Board exams 2020 would not be cancelled due to the nationwide lockdown.
The students of classes 10 and 12 who are awaiting intimation regarding their pending CBSE Board exams are left in a state of confusion due to the ongoing nationwide lockdown. In an effort to clear the confusion surrounding the exams, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially denied the possibility of cancelling the pending board examinations.
The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the CBSE, Rama Sharma, stated that “This pandemic is affecting all students across the country. The situation is continually being assessed for appropriate action by the authorities.”
To add to Rama Sharma’s statement, a senior official from the CBSE Board spoke to a leading media house and said that the discussions are still going on regarding the decision on the dates of exams and a proper announcement would be made only after analysing the situation after May 3, 2020, upon which the lockdown is expected to end.
The CBSE Board would decide on the dates of exams and announce the new exam schedule after analysing the situation post the end of the nationwide lockdownfor Classes 10 and 12. The CBSE Board Exams 2020 was suddenly paused in the middle of the Class 12 exam schedule as schools were shut down due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The Board exams for a few subjects were also previously rescheduled in certain areas due to the North Delhi violence outbreak.
