COVID-19: Lockdown relaxation rules in every state

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended the lockdown till May 3 but has relaxed the lockdown rule in certain regions not classified as COVID-19 hotspots.The relaxation from the lockdown applies from April 20.

Here are the relaxation rules applicable to every state in India:

Maharashtra:

The Maharashtra government allows lockdown relaxation to farming and related activities, along with relaxation to dhabas(eateries), truck and lorry repair garages along the highways. Civic activities such as potholes filling, and laying of water supply lines could be carried out as part of monsoon preparedness.

Uttar Pradesh:

The Uttar Pradesh government has stated that there would be no relaxation provided to the current lockdown rules. The construction activities by the Public Works Department (PWD) is allowed to resume activities in the state, with strict enforcement on safety precautions. The state’s toll collection beginsonApril 20.

Delhi:

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has stated that there would be no relaxation given anywhere in the national capital, at least till May 3.

Punjab:

Chief Minister Amarinder Singh announced on Twitter that the curfew would remain in force across the state till May 3. Farming and essential services activitiesare exempted.

Kerala:

Kerala government has classified various districts across the state into red, orange, and green zones. Red zones remain under lockdown,certain restrictions are relaxed in Orange zones,and local transport is allowed in green areas.

Telangana:

Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has extended the lockdown till May 7, with no relaxation provided state-wide.

Karnataka:

The Karnataka government has extended the lockdown till April 21. A final decision on the lockdown relaxation is expected after the cabinet meeting on Monday.

Haryana:

The Haryana government permitsselected industries to function from April 20. The state government has issued green passes to select industries, blue passes to construction workers, and red passes to essential service workers.Farmers with text messages from the government are alone permitted to transport their produce to mandis.

Eateries along the highways are given relaxation but are closely monitored by the state government.

Madhya Pradesh:

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has relaxed lockdown rules for activities relating to construction, agriculture, road repairs, and labour work falling under the MGNREGA is given relaxation. However, this does not apply to Indore, Bhopal, Ujjain, and other COVID-19 hotspot cities.

Himachal Pradesh:

Himachal Pradesh Director General of PoliceSita Ram Mardi has stated thatno relaxation would be allowed even after April 20.

Bihar:

The Bihar government has said that close to 40,000 projects in the state will begin on April 20. The state government aims to employ over five lakh labourers, who are divided into Group A, Group B, and Group C for close monitoring purposes.

Chhattisgarh: The Chhattisgarh government allows limited economic activities to resume from April 20. These include labour-work under MNREGA, among others.
