Chennai Super King’s bowler Tushar Deshpande, who picked up two wickets against the Lucknow Super Giants on April 2, said that he is trying to pick the brains of CSK’s bowling coach Dwayne Bravo.
Tushar Deshpande stole a limelight by taking two wickets of LSG in the Match 6 of IPL 2023 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on April 3. Post-match, the right arm pacer addressed the press conference and stated that he is focused on putting in effort and improving his game.
The CSK bowler said, “I feel getting a chance or not is not in my hands, but what is in my hand is putting in the effort and keep on improving myself day by day. I was focusing on that. And I feel personally when I keep on growing as a bowler, the opportunities will keep coming towards me, just need to grab it with a cool mind.”
Talking about CSK’s bowling coach Dwayne Bravo, Tushar Deshpande said that he is trying to learn the tricks of his trade. “I feel bowling in the death is not an easy skill. I am still learning. We have a great death bowler as the bowling coach, DJ Bravo, and I am just trying to pick his brains, what he has done from the start of the IPL till last year. So, trying to do that. My role is quite similar to what DJ (Bravo) has done over the years. I cannot fill his shoes, but trying to learn from him.” Tushar also spoke about the surreal atmosphere at the MA Chidambaram Stadium and said, “I could not hear anything, it was very loud. Even when I was bowling it was so loud, I was just trying to focus on what I had practiced, the skills I have and trying to stay calm under pressure, but it was very special. I had just heard about the fans here in Chepauk, and today I have experienced it, it was very special.”
