On 24th February US President Donald Trump visiting Gujarat to inaugurate the world’s largest cricket stadium just for three hours as it cost the state exchequer whopping Rs 100 crore.
Making his first official travel to the largest democracy in the world Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said India will “accord a memorable welcome”. Donald Trump’s budget should not be a limitation in a red carpet welcome has instructed by Chief Minister of Gujarat Vijay Rupani.
Trump’s visit to Gujarat the Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA) and Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) will bear the costs of retrofitting roads and decorating the city of Ahmedabad.
According to the reports, Ahmedabad authorities expect to spend around $80 crore-85 crore for three hours trump visit.
After the event of Trump’s visit, the total expenditure will be accounted for, the cost to be over Rs 100 crore is estimated by the back of the envelope addition.
India’s government can bear some expenses, but the State government will bear a majority share the official had been quoted as saying.
With over 12,000 police officers expected to be deployed for security and it will account for nearly half of the cost, officials said.
The civic body has sanctioned Rs 500 crore in its annual budget for the resurfacing of roads across Ahmedabad. Of this, funds were earmarked to restore roads on a war footing.
President Trump and PM Modi will hold a roadshow at Ahmedabad airport. After that, they will visit Sabarmati Ashram.to pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi.
Later Trump will inaugurate the Sardar Patel Stadium as where he will hold an event called ‘ Kem Chho, Trump, ‘ and also Gujarati equivalent of Modi’s ‘ Howdy, Modi ‘ Huston event.
