The incident in the US on George Floyd resulted in a massive outrage in several parts of the world and something similar now has also happened in India due to which everyone has taken to social media to demand justice for a father-son duo Jayaraj and Bennicks who allegedly died in police custody in Tamil Nadu’s Tuticorin district. According to media reports, it was reported, that 59-year-old Jayaraj and his 31-year-old son Bennicks were arrested for violating lockdown norms over the business hours of their shop. Now police brutality is not something new in India and everyone has heard or witnessed it but this time it seems like things got out of control and this definitely needs to be discussed and taken into action. 

Reportedly, the father-son duo’s relatives have alleged that the victims were severely thrashed by the police which resulted in death. While several Kollywood celebs have joined the protests demanding justice on social media, Bollywood celebrities too have also come out in solidarity with the victims and are condemning police brutality. From Kareena Kapoor, Tiger Shroff, Priyanka Chopra, Taapseei to Janhvi to name a few, here’s how they have reacted to this incident and demanded justice for them. 

1.Kareena Kapoor wrote “Such brutality is unacceptable, whatever be the circumstance. As a society, we must continue to speak until justice prevails and work towards this not happening again. #JusticeForJayarajAndBennix

2.Priyanka Chopra “Reeling from what I’m hearing. Absolutely stunned, sad, and angry. No human being deserves such brutality, whatever be their crime. The guilty must not be allowed to go unpunished.
