From Taare Zameen Par to Dangal, Aamir Khan’s movies own undisputed records on Christmas day release. Now, the Bollywood superstar is set to create new records with Laal Singh Chaddha, which will be a solo this Christmas.

Aamir Khan is known as Mr. Perfectionist of the Hindi film Industry. He sets himself different from his contemporaries in terms of choosing scripts, shooting, marketing and timing the release of his movies. In recent years, the actor has taken over Christmas for the release of his films and he has been most successful. In fact, he has gone on to set a new benchmark with each of these releases.

Aamir Khan’s tryst with experiments began with Taare Zameen Par, which was released on 14 December 2007 and became a trendsetter film. It became one of the highest-grossing Bollywood movies of the year. He released his next film Ghajini during Christmas of 2008 and it started the club of Rs 100 crore movies. Before this, the filmmakers used to aim their films to celebrate the silver jubilee, but Ghajini changed this trend.

His 2009 Christmas release 3 Idiots started a new club called Rs 200 crore movies. Post this release, Aamir Khan focusing on producing some path-breaking movies like Peepli Live, Dhobi Ghat and Delhi Belly. He made his comeback to acting with Talaash: The Answer Lies Within, which was released 30 November 2012 and became a hit at the box office.

Aamir Khan’s next film Dhoom 3 was released on 20 December 2013 and it became the first Bollywood film to cross Rs 275 crore net mark at the domestic box office. His 2014 Christmas release PK set a new club of Rs 300 crore movies. His 2016 release Dangal went on to cross Rs 385 crore net mark at the Indian box office.

Aamir Khan was the first Indian filmmaker to explore the Chinese market. His film 3 Idiots is the first Indian film to be released in China and became a big hit. Everyone including Shah Rukh Khan followed his footsteps, but none of them has been as successful as Mr Perfectionist. His film Dangal stunned everyone with its massive collection in China. It surpassed Rs 2000 crore gross mark at the worldwide box office.

Four years after the release of Dangal, Aamir Khan is gearing up to take the box office once again by a storm as his upcoming movie Laal Singh Chaddha is set to hit the screens during this Christmas. The actor has spoken Akshay Kumar to postpone the release of Laxmi Bomb, which was also slated for Christmas release.

Trade analysts predict that Aamir Khan would set new records with Laal Singh Chaddha. Sumit Kadel tweeted, “#LaalSinghChaddha is a SOLO release on Xmas 2020 & its a top contender of Highest Grosser of the Year. Content oriented Film + Aamir khan + Xmas solo release = All Time BLOCKBUSTER formula.
