After the arrest of Vikas Dubey, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra alleged that it is a complete failure of Yogi Adityanath’s government. The Congress leader has demanded a CBI probe in to the gangster’s links.
Vikas Dubey, who is also known as Vikas Pandit, is a history-sheeter and he has over 60 criminal cases against his name. A group of assailants allegedly opened fire on a police team, when they had gone to arrest him last week. Eight police personnel were killed in the encounter. Two aides of the gangster were gunned down in separate encounters in Uttar Pradesh.
Vikas Dubey was going to Ujjain Mahakal temple when he was identified by security personnel. Madhya Pradesh police, who were on alert, were quick in arresting him soon after they got information. MP CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan has spoken with UP CM Yogi Adityanath over the arrest of Vikas Dubey. The MP Police will hand over him to UP Police.
Hours after the news about Vikas Dubey’s arrest broke, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra took her Twitter page to point out the failure of UP government. She wrote, “The promptness that the UP government should have acted in the heinous massacre of Kanpur proved to be a complete failure. Despite the alert, the accused reaches Ujjain, not only exposes the claims of security but also indicates connivance.”
The Congress leader demanded a CBI inquiry in to Vikas Dubey’s case. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra added, “No action on the three-month-old letter and the absence of ‘Vikas’ in the list of notorious criminals suggests that the wires in this case are connected. The UP government should conduct a CBI inquiry into the matter and reveal all the facts and concerns of the protection.”
