Tollywood superstar Junior NTR, who is basking in on the success of RRR movie, has not been roped in to play the lead role alongside Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan in his upcoming movie War 2.

It was rumoured recently that Yash Raj Film has planned to do a sequel to the spy action film and roped in Brahmastra director Ayan Mukerji , who is now said to be working on the script of War 2. It was also said that they had approached Telugu actor Junior NTR for one of the lead roles and he has given the nod to the film.

But the latest buzz is that Junior NTR has not said yes to the sequel. “War 2 is only an idea right now. There is no script for the sequel, so how can any actor be cast in it? All that has been decided by producer Aditya Chopra is that Ayan Mukerji will direct War 2,” a source told E-Times,

The source added,” Beyond that there is not even a seed of an idea for War 2. Ayan will get down to this project only after he completes Brahmastra Part 2 and 3. War 2 won’t go on the floors until the end of 2025.”

Jr NTR, which gained international recognition post RRR success, is currently busy shooting with Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor for director Kortala Siva’s upcoming movie. A source close to the actor said, “NTR would never agree to be part of two-hero film as his Bollywood debut.”

The original film starred Tiger Shroff alongside Hrithik Roshan. It was helmed by Sidharth Anand. The high-octane action drama had received good reviews from the public. It was one of the highest-grossing Hindi films of 2019. War is part of Yash Raj Films’ spy universe, which includes superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan and Salman Khan’s Tiger franchise.
