Jyotiraditya Scindia quits Congress Party to Join BJP after meeting with PM

If MLAs supporting Jyotiraditya Scindia withdraw support from the Kamal Nath government? It could endanger the state’s Congress regime.

The congress leader got the BJP ticket to Rajya Sabha.

Scindia and Union Home Minister Amit Shah met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence 7 Lok Kalyan Marg in the midst of the political crisis in Madhya Pradesh.

The meeting lasted over an hour. Sources say that Scindia will join the BJP after some of his MLAs flew to BJP-ruled Karnataka triggering a crisis in Kamal Nath’s one-and-a-half-year-old administration.

All formalities have been completed for Scindia joining BJP. Sources said Scindia, in the presence of party president J.P, would officially join the BJP. Nadda and Home Minister Amit Shah Tuesday evening at party headquarters.

Scindia may also become a union minister in the government of Narendra Modi although his loyalist MLAs will be made ministers of the cabinet in Madhya Pradesh.

If all 17 MLAs of Congress withdraw, then the power of Congress Party in MP assembly will fall to 103. That will help BJP form a government with 107 MLAs, just as it did in Karnataka.

Chief MP Minister Kamal Nath, has vowed to fight back.

Meanwhile, twenty ministers in the new MP government have submitted their resignation as ministers to the CM to make way for the ‘ disgruntled ‘ MLAs.

A crucial BJP meeting is happening at the party headquarters in Bhopal, where Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, BJP chief of state, B.D. Sharma is there to figure out the strategy of creating the next Madhya Pradesh government. Also on Tuesday evening, a meeting of BJP legislators will be held to elect a leader.
