The exit poll results of Karnataka assembly elections show that JD(S)’s help will be crucial for the incumbent BJP and opposition Congress to get the majority mark to form the next government in the state.
The voting for the Karnataka Assembly elections 2023 was concluded on Wednesday evening and the state recorded a voter turnout of 72.67 per cent, which is slightly above the polls in 2018. Several survey companies released the results of their exit polls of this assembly elections.
Karnataka has the 224-member assembly house and a party needs to get 113 seats to form the government in the state. Four out of 11 exit poll results show that Congress will get a clear majority, while the party will lack 1 to 7 sears to cross the mark as per four other surveys. One suvery results offer a hit that the BJP will get a clear majority.
If we are to go by the average results of all the 10 exit polls, Congress and BJP will get 101 and 97 seats, while the JD(S) will be around 24 seats. Even though Congress tally will improve from 80 to 93 seats, it will struggle to form a government. The BJP tally will drop from 104 to 89. The JD(S) tally is likely to drop from 36 to 24, but it will decide which of Congress or BJP form the government.
