Kartik Aryan’s Shehzada has slowed the pace of Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan, but failed to make the expected collection at the Indian box office in the first week.
Shehzada is a remake of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, the success of which has created a lot of hype and curiosity about the movie. After seeing the huge collection of the Telugu movie, trade experts predicted that the Kartik Aryan starrer would make decent business at the box office. However, the flick got an average opening and failed to show a big jump in its numbers over the weekend.
Shehzada collected Rs 20.20 crore net at the box office in the first weekend. Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#Shehzada doesn’t live up to the expectations… The weekend biz is below the mark… The *big* jump / turn around on Sat and Sun – to improve its prospects – is clearly missing… Fri 6 cr, Sat 6.65 cr, Sun 7.55 cr. Total: ₹ 20.20 cr [+/-]. #India biz.”
Pathaan collected Rs 5.74 crore net at the box office in its fourth weekend. Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#Pathaan #Tamil + #Telugu [Week 4] Fri 5 lacs, Sat 7 lacs. Total: ₹ 17.82 cr. ⭐️ NOTE: #Pathaan #Hindi + #Tamil + #Telugu *combined* biz: ₹ 511.42 cr. #India biz. Nett BOC.”
Taran Adarsh added, “#Pathaan continues to score over weekends… Gathers speed on [fourth] Sat [#MahaShivratri holiday]: national chains + mass pockets witness an upward trend… Will cross ₹ 500 cr mark on [fourth] Tue… [Week 4] Fri 2.20 cr, Sat 3.25 cr. Total: ₹ 493.60 cr. #Hindi. #India biz.”
