Justice Markandey Katju, who voice his opinions on all the current affairs, had once said that like Amitabh Bachchan, Rajnikanth has nothing in his head. He had also mocked the film goers down south.
Back in 2017, Rajnikanth announced his entry in to politics. After hearing the news, Markandey Katju had taken dig at the Tamil superstar. In his blog, the justice expressed anger against south Indian audience treating actors as demi gods. He had written, “I have a high opinion of south Indians, but I just cannot understand their stupid deification and idolization of filmstars.”
Markandey Katju added, “I remember when I was in Annamalai University (1967-68) I once went with some Tamilian friends to see a movie starring Shivaji Ganesan. At the very beginning of that movie the feet of Shivaji Ganesan were shown (and only the feet) and the audience went hysterical.”
The justice had even wondered over why south Indian film goers were so crazy about Rajnikanth entering politics, as he has idea on how to tackle burnings issues of the state. Markandey Katju had penned in his blog, “Now it seems many south Indians are crazy about Rajnikanth, and some even want him to enter politics and be the Chief Minister of Tamilnadu.
Katju added, “But what is there in Rajnikanth? Has he any solutions to the massive problems of poverty, unemployment, malnourishment, lack of healthcare, farmers distress, etc? I think he has none. Then why do people want him in politics? Like Amitabh Bachchan, Rajnikanth has nothing in his head.”
