Tollywood superstar Mahesh Babu has condemned the heinous crime of rape and murder of a 6-year-old at Singareni Colony in Saidabad, Hyderabad and asked whether our daughters will ever be safe.
A six-year-girl went missing on Thursday evening and her body was found in a house in the neighbourhood after midnight. She was suspected to have been sexually assaulted before being murdered. When the police reached the spot, residents staged a protest and tried to stop police from shifting the body for autopsy till the accused was handed over to them.
Five days after the heinous incident took place, Mahesh Babu took to his Twitter account on Tuesday night to condemn the rape and murder of the six-year-old girl. He tweeted, “The heinous crime against the 6-year old in Singareni Colony is a reminder of how far we have fallen as a society. “Will our daughters ever be safe?”, is always a lingering question! Absolutely gut-wrenching.. Cannot imagine what the family is going through!”

Mahesh Babu requested the police authorities to take quick action get justice to the victim and her family. The Telugu superstar tweeted, “I urge the authorities to ensure swift action and deliver justice to the child and her family!”
The house, where the girl’s body was found, belonged to a person named Pallakonda Raju and he was absconding. The Hyderabad city police, who suspect of his role in the rape and murder of the girl, have sought leads from the public about his whereabouts. All efforts were being made to arrest him. A cash reward of Rs 10 lakh has also been announced.
