Justice Markandey Katju has come down heavily upon Ranjan Gogoi, the 46th Chief Justice of India, who is facing the charges of molesting woman employee. He said that this rascal and rogue rose to become CJI.

In April employee, a woman employee had sent a sworn affidavit to the residences of 22 top court judges levelling allegations of molestation against CJI Ranjan Gogoi. Later, she had claimed that she was transferred and then terminated from service. The Supreme Court has reportedly reinstated her in service. She has joined the duty and proceeded on leave. All her arrears too have been cleared.

After reading the reports, Markandey Katju took to his Twitter and Facebook pages to take a dig at Ranjan Gogoi. He wrote, “At last the woman employee who was sexually molested by CJI Gogoi and victimized along with her family has been reinstated. There was no vice which was not in Ranjan Gogoi. And yet this rascal and rogue rose to become CJI. It speaks volumes about our judiciary Hari Om.”

Markandey Katju added, “A shame How low a man was this rascal Ranjan Gogoi can be seen from the fact that he not only got the woman he sexually molested dismissed because she complained against him, but his vendetta was not thereby satisfied. He went after her whole family, and misusing his position as CJI got them sent to jail. And what about his brother/sister Judges? They should have asked Gogoi to resign, but many of them protected him, instead of protecting that poor woman and her relatives. Shame on them.”
