Mani Ratnam’s movie Ponniyin Selvan 2 (PS 2) starring Vikram, Karthi, Aishwariya Rai, Jayam Ravi, Trisha and Aishwarya Lekshmi has received excellent reviews and ratings from the critics and audience.

Ponniyin Selvan 2 story: Arunmozhi Varman (Jayam Ravi) and Vallavaraiyan Vandhiyadevudu (Karthi), who sank into the sea while fighting with Pandyas get saved by a mute woman Mandhakini (Aishwarya Rai). Along with Pandyas, Nandhini (Aishwarya Rai) plans a conspiracy to eradicate the Chola dynasty. At the same time the Chola dynasty make Madhuranthakudu (Rehman) the king by dethroning Aditya Karikaludu (Vikram). What happens next forms the crux of the story.

Analysis: Ponniyin Selvan 2 is a masterpiece of filmmaker Mani Ratnam, who has done brilliant work in terms of scripting and direction. Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai, Trisha and other actors have delivered best performances, which has the highlights of the film. The movie has brilliant production valuesand Ravi Varman’s camera work and AR Rahman’s music are the big attractions on the technical front, say the critics and audience.
