Amidst growing outrage towards The Kerala Story, Pranitha Subhash took to her Twitter account today to request. She wrote, “I just booked my tickets for #TheKeralaStory Did you? I am going to watch this Most Fearless Cinema ever in the theatres. I request you all also to watch it please & do our bit for Dharma🚩🙏🏼 5thMay in Theatres, Let’s post ours tickets! #SaveOurDaughters.”
The Kerala Story has landed in a big controversy after its trailer hit the internet. The makers claimed that 32,000 Keralites were forcibly converted to Muslim and recruited to the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) and their film is based on real incidents related to this issue. But many Keralites claimed there is no mass-level conversion and it is just a propaganda movie.
Jamiat Ulama I Hind and a few others filed a petition before the Supreme Court challenging the release of The Kerala Story. The petition sought a disclaimer that the movie is a work of fiction and it encourages hate speech. But the SC refused to hear their plea and directed the petitioners to move the Kerala high court.
