Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday accepted speaker Kevin McCarthy’s invitation to address the joint meeting of the Congress again on June 22. He thanked the US for this opportunity.

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy tweeted the invitation letter and wrote, “It is my honor to invite @PMOIndia @narendramodi to address a Joint Meeting of Congress on Thursday, June 22nd. This will be an opportunity to celebrate the enduring friendship between the United States and India and speak to the global challenges our countries both face.”

In reply, Indian PM Narendra Modi tweeted, “Thank you @SpeakerMcCarthy, @LeaderMcConnell, @SenSchumer, and @RepJeffries for the gracious invitation. I am honored to accept and look forward to once again address a Joint Meeting of the Congress. We are proud of our Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership with the US, built upon the foundation of shared democratic values, strong people-to-people ties, and an unwavering commitment to global peace and prosperity.”

“On behalf of the bipartisan leadership of the United States House of Representatives and the United States Senate, it is our honor to invite you to address a Joint Meeting of Congress on Thursday, June 22, 2023,” read the invitation letter of the Congress of the United States.

The Congress said, “Based on our shared values and commitment to global peace and prosperity, the partnership between our two countries continues to grow. During your address, you will have the opportunity to share your vision for India’s future and speak to the global challenges our countries both face.”

“Your historic address to a Joint Meeting of Congress seven years ago left a lasting impact and greatly deepened the friendship between the United States and India. As you said in that address: “Our relationship is primed for a momentous future. The constraints of the past are behind us and foundations of the future are firmly in place.” We look forward to paving the way for greater collaboration between our countries in the years to come,” added the Congress.https://twitter.com/SpeakerMcCarthy/status/1664630165802983427
