The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) is one of the largest publicly attended film festivals in the world and its known to create a buzz as big as the Oscars! The festival, slated to run from September 10 to September 19, will be opting for digital screenings and virtual red carpets for the first time due to the coronavirus pandemic, making it “tailored to fit the moment”. Festival-goers would also be able to enjoy drive-ins and outdoor experiences that take them beyond the movie theatre. “The pandemic has hit TIFF hard, but we’ve responded by going back to our original inspiration – to bring the very best in film to the broadest possible audience,” said Cameron Bailey, Artistic Director and Co-Head, TIFF. “

Now what grabs our attention is that actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas and filmmaker Anurag Kashyap are among the 50 celebrated filmmakers and actors invited as ambassadors of TIFF this year. Priyanka is currently a global icon post her debut and success in Hollywood and since then there has been no turning back. She is also married to America’s heartthrob Nick Jonas and the duo are head over heels into each other! Talking about Anurag Kashyap, Anurag has been busy with producing films be it Sacred Games, Super 30 or his latest Choked : Paisa Bolta hai. He recently launched his own production company “GoodBad films” too.

Peecee and Kashyap will join Oscar winners and celebrated international names including filmmakers Martin Scorsese, Alfonso Cuaron, Taika Waititi, Ava DuVernay, Rian Johnson, Denis Villeneuve, and actors Nicole Kidman, Nadine Labaki, Riz Ahmed, Isabelle Huppert, Zhang Ziyi to help TIFF deliver a strong gala this year, the organisers said in a press statement. Well, we hope this new style of TIFF is a success!
