Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja’s Ravanasura, which opened to a good response, has failed to do the expected amount of collection in the first weekend and bombed at the worldwide box office.
Ravanasura had decent hype and curiosity before its release and received a good opening at the box office. “#Ravanasura opened on a Decent note at around 90% of what #Dhamaka did. Could have been better being a Public Holiday Release but the Genre isn’t exactly your regular commercial stuff, tweeted a Tollywood trade analyst.
But the Ravi Teja starrer showed a big drop of over 50% in its business at the worldwide box office on Saturday and Sunday. The T-Town trade expert added, “#Ravanasura has dropped by nearly half on Saturday/Sunday and had a Below-par Weekend at the Box-office.”
According to the reports, Ravanasura has collected Rs 13.85 crore gross at the box office in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and Rs 3.85 crore gross in other parts of the globe in the first weekend. Its three-day total collection stands at Rs 17.70 crore gross. The movie is estimated to have earned Rs 9.93 crore for its distributors, who have reportedly invested Rs 22.20 crore on its theatrical rights. To break the even, Ravanasura needs to earn Rs 12.27 crore for its global distributors. Looking at its current pace of collection, trade experts say that the film will not be able to recover their investments. The Ravi Teja starrer is likely to incur some amount of loss to them in the coming days.
