Daily News on Time
Popular actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu has quickly moved on from the failure of her latest release Shaakuntalam and started sharing her glamourous photos from the sets of Citadel Indian version.
Shaakuntalam, which is a mythological epic movie, is one of the most-talked about pan-Indian films of 2023. The actress had left no stone unturned in promoting it. Keeping high hopes on it, she had been sharing positive reviews of the movie on social media pages for almost for a week.
But to her dismay, the Gunasekhar-directed flick received shockingly low opening and its collection went drastically on the following days. Shaakuntalam has collected approximately around Rs 10 crore gross at the worldwide box office in six days. Made on budget of Rs 80 crore, the movie has been big disappointment for its distributors, who are said to have invested heavily on its theatrical rights.
It was a big shock for Samantha, who has been churning out back-to-back hits ever since made her acting debut. Days after it bombed at the box office, the clueless actress went to share Sanskrit sloka that read, “Karmanye vadhika raste Ma phaleshu kadachana Ma karma phala he tur bhuh Ma te sangotsva karmani.” (You have a right to “Karma” (actions) but never to any Fruits thereof. You should never be motivated by the results of your actions, nor should there be any attachment in not doing your prescribed activities.)
However, Samantha has two big ticket projects like Kushi starring Vijay Devarakonda alongside her and the Indian version of Citadel starring Varun Dhawan opposite her. Instead of worrying over the failure, the actress has chosen to attend the global premiere of the latter in London.
