‘Shershaah’: Sidharth Malhotra pays tribute to Captain Vikram Batra

Siddharth Malhotra made his debut in Student of the Year and since has been seen in a set of Bollywood films.  He was last seen in Marjaavaan opposite Tara Sutaria in 2019 which did farely well in the box office. Now currently he is busy for his next big movie Shershaah. Sidharth is all set to step into the shoes of Captain Vikaram Batra in Vishnuvardhan upcoming film Shershaah. Captain Vikram Batra attained martyrdom 21 years ago today while fighting Pakistani forces during the Kargil war in 1999. He was bestowed upon with the highest wartime gallantry award, the Param Vir Chakra, posthumously.

Siddharth took to social media to pay tribute to Captain Vikram Batra on his birthday today. Taking to Instagram to pay tribute as he shared a video and captioned it, “Valour of Shershaah made him immortal. Happy birthday Shershaah, respect and salute to Captain Vikram Batra. Jai Hind” The entire cast and crew of the film is currently in Kargil shooting for the film and Sid has been quite active on social media sharing videos and pictures on a daily basis from the sets of the film. Meanwhile, talking about the film Sidharth had said, “More than interesting, it is more of a responsibility to bring back his glory on screen. He sacrificed his life for our nation, so I can never take this project for granted. I met his parents and his brother, they are so attached to him emotionally. I hope I don’t let them down. Apart from the business aspect, I hope we make a film that does justice to Mr Batra’s glory and eventually.” While the release date of the film isn’t announced yet, the film will be releasing next year and will also feature Kiara Advani in a pivotal role.
