Sonakshi Sinha took to Instagram to share with her 18.5 million followers why she has deactivated her Twitter account. She shared a video of herself, citing reasons that led to her deactivating her account. Sonakshi Sinha made it clear that she has only left Twitter because of all the negativity people have on the platform. She said,”Some people are celebrating like they won something… I’m happy for you, tumhe laga raha hai na… lagne do, kisi ko koi farak nahi padh raha. “She said she had done this to cut all the abuse and insult in her life. She wouldn’t allow people to say whatever they want to, to her family and friends.
Her videos end with her snapping her fingers and disappearing. The caption read, “Your negativity has never served me or my life, which is why it literally took a snap of a finger to get rid of a following of 16 million people which I’ve garnered over the last ten years.” Sonakshi Sinha had been receiving lots of trolls and memes after deciding to quit Twitter. Many believe it was done in the light of late actor Sushant Singh’s death, after which many were complaining, and nepotism had taken Bollywood by storm.
She responded to them by saying they are ‘pigs’ trying to gain attention from the death of a talented member of their fraternity. People on Twitter immediately co-related ‘pig’ with actress Kangana Ranaut who shared a video raising her concerns for the industry. Her farewell tweet on Twitter was a screenshot of her Instagram post earlier and wrote, “Aag Lage basti mein… mein apni masti mein! Bye Twitter.” Sonakshi Sinha has been a prime target after the death of the actor, she has been facing trolls for quite some time now after her stint in Kaun Banega Crorepati last year, and she failed to answer a question about Ramayan.
She was mocked by the public to which she responded as she had grown listening to stories from the Ramayana, but it has been a long time now, and she just had a black-out, and it happened with everyone. Now that she has left Twitter, it seems social media holds no terror for her, her new movie Bhuj: The Pride of India will premier later this year.
