South superstar Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar today donated Rs 50 lakhs towards combating the latest pandemic. This donation as made to the Karnataka CM Relief Fund.

Puneeth handed over the contribution to the CM. He joins a list of celebrities voluntarily contributing money to either the PM Cares Fund or CM Relief Funds (of respective states) or both.

This is a novel initiative, to help fight the novel pandemic.

In related news, Mi India has now pledged to donate at least Rs 15 crores towards the PM-Cares Relief Fund created exclusively to combat the latest pandemic. Folks at the company have confirmed this development via micro-blogging site Twitter.

“We are pledging to donate ₹15 Crores to PMCaresFunds and CMReliefFund. In these testing times, all of us need to come together to safeguard our nation. You can also contribute via donations to GiveIndia on Mi.com,” reads the official tweet.

Good gesture indeed!
