Street Dancer 3D and Panga show decent growth on Saturday, Kangana Film fails to match Chhapaak

Street Dancer 3D and Panga have shown decent growth in their collection at the Indian box office on Saturday. But the Kangana Ranaut starrer has failed to match the business of recent female-centric film Chhapaak.

Street Dancer 3D starring Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor started on a good note and made a good collection on the first day. On the other hand, Panga opened to poor response and did average business on Friday. But both films received positive talk and trade experts predicted that the word of mouth would boost their collection over the weekend.

As predicted, both movies showed growth, but Panga had a bigger rise. Sumit Kadel tweeted, “#StreetDancer3D Saturday – 20-25% growth compared to friday in morning & noon shows across India. Poised to have more growth in evening & night shows. #Panga – growth of approx 45-% compared to Friday. Film should double up the collection to post a decent weekend figure.

But Street Dancer 3D went on to show huge growth in its collection in the Mumbai region. Sumit Kadel tweeted, “#StreetDancer3D is performing strongly in Mumbai circuit today (Saturday) post evening shows. Film underperformed at this circuit on friday, good audience response is coming into play.”

Street Dancer 3D has collected Rs 13.21 crore net at the Indian box office on Saturday. Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#StreetDancer3D is on track on Day 2. Witnesses substantial growth, which keeps it in the race… #Mumbai circuit leads, while other circuits gather pace post noon onwards… Day 3 [#RepublicDay] should boost biz… Fri 10.26 cr, Sat 13.21 cr. Total: ₹ 23.47 cr. #India biz.”

On the other hand, Panga has collected Rs 5.61 crore net at the Indian box office on Saturday. Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#Panga flies high on Day 2… Glowing word of mouth has come into play… Witnesses excellent growth across metros… Improves in multiplexes of Tier-2 cities… Needs to cover lost ground on Day 3 [#RepublicDay]… Fri 2.70 cr, Sat 5.61 cr. Total: ₹ 8.31 cr. #India biz.”

But the collection of Panga stills looks lower than that of Chhapaak, which collected Rs 4.77 crore and Rs 6.90 crore on its first and second day respectively. Sumit Kadel tweeted, “#Panga Saturday- ₹ 4.90 cr nett, growth is very good compared to friday but the numbers are still very low considering the release size. Film is trending lower than #Chhapaak, looking to have a weekend of approx ₹ 14-15 cr nett, weekdays would be crucial for its BO fate.”
