Street Dancer vs Panga box office collection: Varun-Shraddha film makes it bigger than Kangana’s movie on day 1

Street Dancer 3D starring Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor, has opened to fantastic response and made superb collection at the Indian box office on the first day. Its business is much bigger than that of Kangana Ranaut’s Panga.

Street Dancer 3D had an average start at the box office in the morning shows on Friday, while Panga opened to poor response. Trade analyst Sumit Kadel tweeted, “#StreetDancer3D opens fair with occupancy of approx 25-28% in morning shows across India. #Panga opens low with 8-12% occupancy in morning shows across India. Both film will grow post matinee shows.”

Both Street Dancer 3D and Panga were successful striking a chord with the filmgoers and meeting their expectations. Trade experts predicted that the strong word of mouth would boost their business in the afternoon and evening shows on their opening day. The Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor starrer went on strength to strength, but the Kangana Ranaut starrer failed to show expected growth.

As per early estimates, Street Dancer 3D has collected around Rs 11.50 crore net at the Indian box office on the first day. It has become one of the biggest openers for Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor. It has also beaten the record of Deepika Padukone’s Chhapaak to become the second biggest Bollywood opener of 2020 after Tanaji.

On the other hand, Panga is estimated to have collected around Rs 2.50 crore net at the domestic box office on the first day. It has become the lowest opening-day collection for a film starring Kangana Ranaut. If it does not show huge growth in the coming days, it will become another dud of the year after Chhapaak.

Sumit Kadel tweeted, “#StreetDancer3D Friday – ₹ 10.26 cr nett. #Panga Friday- ₹ 2.45 cr nett.”
