Adah Sharma’s The Kerala Story has taken the domestic box office by storm and made a bigger collection in the second week than in the first week. Its 14-day business has inched closer to Rs 200 crore mark.
Having opened to a fantastic response, this medium-budget movie went on to collect Rs 81.14 crore net at the Indian box office in the first week. Its opening week business was on-par with many big-ticket Bollywood films of the year. With no big release, The Kerala Story went on to show around 50% growth on its second Friday, when compared to its opening-day collection.
The Sudipto Sen-directed film showed huge growth on its second Saturday and Sunday the business of which was evening than the collection of its first Saturday and Sunday. Its business remained rock-steady in the following days. The Kerala Story collected Rs 90.58 crore net at the Indian box office in its second week, taking its 14-day total collection to Rs 171.72 crore net in the domestic market.
