Congress leader Bhupesh Baghel revealed the reason behind former Congress Chief Rahul Gandhi choosing the holy place Kanniyakumari to start the mega rally called Bharat Jodo Yatra.
Rahul Gandhi launched the Bharat Jodo Yatra on Wednesday evening with an intention of connecting with common man and uniting everyone for the country. Started on 7th September in Kanyakumari, this Yatra will pass through 12 states and culminate in Jammu and Kashmir – spanning a distance of nearly 3,500 Km over the course of about 150 days.
Addressing the gathering at the launch of Bharat Jodo Yatra, Congress leader Bhupesh Baghel said, “This is the holy place from where Mahatma Gandhi took his message of peace & brotherhood… Rahulji decided to raise the common man’s problems & unite India by starting march from this holy place to Kashmir.”
After launching the Yatra, Rahul Gandhi attacked the ruling BIP for misusing its power. The Congress leader said, “It gives me great joy to begin #BharatJodoYatra from this beautiful place. The national flag represents the religion & language of every single person living in this country. They (BJP & RSS) think that this flag is their personal property.”
Rahul Gandhi went on to say that no opposition leader is scared of the BJP’s power abuse. He added, “They (BJP) think they can frighten the opposition using CBI, ED and IT. The problem is they don’t understand Indian people. Indian people don’t get scared. Not a single opposition leader is going to be scared of the BJP.” The former Congress Chief alleged that the country is controlled by a few companies. Rahul Gandhi said, “Today India is facing its worst economic crisis. A handful of large businesses control the entire country today. Earlier there was East India Company which controlled India and today there are 3-4 big companies which control the entire India.”
