The Mumbai police detained two people detained for threatening Uddhav Thackeray faction leader and MP Sanjay Raut and MLA Sunil Raut on Friday.

“I have received death threats 5-6 times in the last 7-8 months. I have also informed (Maharashtra) home minister and the chief minister about it. These are government-sponsored threats. There is an invisible force behind them which the 40 people (Sena MLAs including Chief Minister Eknath Shinde) used to call superpower. It is destroying the state for political purposes,” Sanjay Raut told media.

Talking about the death threat, MLA Sunil Raut told ANI, “Uddhav Thackeray faction MP Sanjay Raut and I have received death threat calls since yesterday, asking them not to talk to the media in the morning. Mumbai Police Commissioner and state Home Minister have been informed regarding the incident.”

Mumbai police detained two people for threatening Uddhav faction leader and MP Sanjay Raut. The interrogation is currently underway. Sanjay Raut spoke about the death threat call to NCP chief Sharad Pawar and told ANI, “Some people have been caught, and they all belong to BJP.” However, NCP MP Supriya Sule met Mumbai Police Commissioner earlier today after her father Sharad Pawar received threatening messages. “Mumbai Police registers a case against two people in connection with a threat call to NCP chief Sharad Pawar. Police registered a case under section 153A, 504, 506(2) of IPC, Crime Branch is also investigating the matter,” the Mumbai Police told ANI.
