Power star Pawan Kalyan’s Vakeel Saab opened to superb response and made decent collection at the worldwide box office in the first weekend. The movie has inched closer to Rs 100 crore gross mark in three days.
Vakeel Saab is the remake of Amitabh Bachchan’s Hindi movie Pink the success of which had generated a lot of hype for this Telugu film. Its promos had soared up the viewers’ curiosity and expectations sky high. The pre-release hype made its worldwide theatrical rights sell at high prices and also helped it decent advance ticket booking for its opening day. The distributors made grand arrangements to cash in on the Pawan mania.
Riding on huge hype, the remake of Pink received very good response at the ticket counters across the globe on the first day. Vakeel Saab collected over Rs 40 crore gross at the worldwide box office on its opening day. Trade experts and the people in the film nagar were awestruck by its collection during these tough times of coronavirus.
Vakeel Saab was successful in impressing the viewers and meeting their expectations. Many were left with wonder with Venu Sriram’s changes made to the original script. Trade Pandits predicted that a strong word of mouth would boost its collection over the weekend. However, the movie witnessed a steep decline of over 60 percent on its second day, but managed to show some growth on Sunday.
The makers are yet to reveal its exact business details. But if we are to go by the early estimates, Vakeel Saab has collected around Rs 85 crore gross at the worldwide box office in the first weekend. In three days, the movie is estimated over Rs 50 crore share for its global distributors, who have shelled out a hefty price of Rs 96 crore on its theatrical rights.
