Director Karthik Varma Dandu’s Telugu movie Virupaksha starring Sai Dharam Tej and Samyuktha Menon has received excellent reviews and ratings from the film critics and audience.

Virupaksha is a supernatural mystery action film, which marks the debut of Karthik Varma Dandu as a director. Sukumar has written the story and screenplay for the movie, which has been produced by Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra and Sukumar Writings

Virupaksha movie story: Mysterious deaths occur in a village named Rudravanam due to an unknown person’s occult practices. The whole town is afraid, and the problems continue as they search for the one responsible. Surya (Sai Dharam Tej) arrives at village and learns about the deaths caused by the black magic practicing. Hoe he sets on a crusade to locate the culprit forms the crux of the film.

Analysis: Sukumar has written an excellent story, which has gripping narrative and barely has a dull moment throughout Virupaksha. Sai Dharam Tej’s action and his chemistry with Samyukta Menon are the highlights of the movie. Brilliant sound designs and picturisation are the big attraction on the technical front, say the film critics and audience.

#Virupaksha: The gripping narrative is packed with suspense and there’s barely any room for dullness once the mystical conflict is set up. The writing never digresses and is deftly complemented by strong visuals and AMAZING precision in sound design. Best part: It never resorts to cheap jump scares to instill fear or keep us engaged even though the opportunities are aplenty to create such moments. Yet, the writing manages to sustain tension by dropping hints here and there, and making us part of the puzzle-solving journey the protagonist embarks on in the second half. Be it the world-building, characters, backstory or the main reveal, all the elements are woven smoothly into the narrative and there aren’t any jerks. I had a great time!
