Yuvraj Singh has not forgotten the episode of a pie chucker. The former all-rounder from India poked fun with a sarcastic comment on Kevin Pietersen’s latest Instagram post.
Yeah, you trip on those pies sometimes too.. As they came a long way from their public spat the duo Yuvraj Singh and Kevin Pietersen haven’t forgotten the ‘pie chucker’ during the test series in India in 2008.
Once again after the England cricketer has made a reference to ‘pie chucker’ Yuvraj Singh has poked fun on Thursday at the social media post of Kevin Pietersen.
Kevin Pietersen has posted a clip of him on Instagram playing the famous ‘change hit’ against medium-pacer Scott Styris with former New Zealand.
“Just dealing with pies, @englandcricket. The original switch hits @kp24,” He’d written the post as a caption.
Yuvraj Singh answered the message, and wrote: “Well sometimes u slip on those pies too.”
In 2008 this spat had begun back when Pietersen called Yuvraj ‘left- filth’ after he was dismissed by the latter in the Test contest.
“When the ball is swinging and seaming and you’ve got a guy like Zaheer Khan, who is one of the best bowlers I’ve ever faced, not bowling at you and you’ve got a pie-chucker like Yuvraj Singh bowling at you I really don’t mind. When you get left-arm filth like that it makes you feel really good,” Pietersen had said.
When he replied to Pietersen’s remarks, Yuvraj Singh did not hold back, saying he liked the name given to him.
“It shows KP hates getting out to me and if a useless bowler is getting him out five times then I would say that is quite useless batting,” Yuvraj had said
Even the two buried hatchet and Kevin Pietersen wished the Yuvraj Singh on this retirement with a pie chucker reference
“Happy retirement, Pie Chucker. A quite remarkable career with plenty of highs and some pretty brutal lows. You showed resilience, courage & pure brilliance throughout your time wearing blue! Love ya, @YUVSTRONG12!,” Pietersen had said.
